Then 247 is obviously as retarded as you are if you can’t understand that a team that has won 3 National Championships and played for another in the time span listed can’t obviously be a one hit wonder.

I don't necessarily disagree with that take; but if you read the article, it is clear they are talking about anomaly seasons that had mediocre to poor preceding seasons, a huge jump toward success, immediately followed by garbage.

That is how they seemed to generally define the one hit wonders (bad term). More like roller coaster rides in short periods, not necessarily looking at the program as a whole over the 20 yrs.

Yes, LSU won 2 and played for 3 NCs between 2000-2011, but the 9 years after have been 3+ loss years on the regular outside of 15-0.

It is a bad take, but a fair point of discussion as an anomaly year on the whole over last 10 seasons.

Since 2000, LSU is 2nd only to Bama on top end success (with Clemson close). But, if ranked for overall consistency as a program, they aren't #2.

They are not necessarily the up and down extremes of AU football, but it has been some highs followed by some what's? And whys?.

I think it’s pure garbage simply by the other teams listed in the same article. There are many examples to use (practically every team listed) but let’s look at Texas. What have they done since 2005? I mean it completely idiotic to even compare our two programs . 247 is obviously confused about the term “One Hit Wonder” as are many people on this board. A program that has won one championship and then not played for another or won one in 20 years would define one hit wonder to me, but a team that has won 3 National Championships and played for a fourth during that same time should not be grouped in with the same teams.
