I think a new football complex looks good on paper, but for the most part that's for the players that are here already.

Say what? It is for recruiting.

Our facility isn't that outdated currently

Yes, yes it is comparatively.

I'd say it's mostly for incoming players. The '22 class will be the first class to work in that facility their whole time at Auburn. And that's the current recruiting cycle

That being said, I think someone on 247 or elsewhere showed where new facilities don't provide the huge boost that fans believe it will. BUT, I agree here, Auburn's facility is a bit older and has gone renovation almost every other year. It pales in comparison to the top programs in the SEC - which is who we're competing with for recruits. The new facility will take away a significant item in the 'con' column for recruits when looking at Auburn. We'll still need everything else that's required to land top recruits (winning, development, draft picks, NFL success, popular coaches) but the facilities piece is something you just can't let kill you because it's often the easiest thing to control from a program building standpoint
