It could also be said ESPN's lack of broadcasting quality is definitely causing their financial problems. I watch ESPN for the games. I never watch their talking idiots. NFL halftime I switch to "Going RV" or "Log Cabin Living" for 20 minutes.

Their lack of financial problems probably stems more from their expenses vs lack of competitive content.
They just don’t carry enough quality actual games. They don’t have NFL on Sunday. They don’t get the big NCAAF games. Very little NHL coverage. Very little MLB games and coverage.
The one thing they get is regular season NCAAM basketball games, which barely matter and probably don’t move the needle.
