Also, a fun look at the numbers:
Sean White as a Sophomore in 2016:
63.9% completion percentage, 8.1 yards per attempt, 8.3 adjusted yards per attempt, 143.1 pass efficiency rating.
9 touchdown passes to 3 interceptions
4.33 TD/Attempt % (9 touchdowns in 208 attempts)
Bo Nix as a Sophomore in 2020:
59.9% completion percentage, 6.8 yards per attempt, 6.6 adjusted yards per attempt, 123.9 pass efficiency rating.
12 touchdown passes to 7 interceptions
3.36 TD/Attempt % (12 touchdowns in 357 attempts)
Bo Nix is literally less productive than Sean White was, and his receiving core is definitely better. White played with the same shitty OL pass blocking. White also played hard as hell and took an absolute beating, and I don't remember anyone giving him a free pass for anything because of that reason. I also don't remember anyone ball-washing Sean White about being a 1st round draft pick after that season, and it can be argued that White had all of the same "talent" as he in fact beat out Desean Watson for the MVP award at the Elite 11.
This is where the nepotism with Bo Nix is so obviously apparent. He is as big if not a bigger failure (to date) than the guys who failed before him, and yet he seemingly gets an infinite leash. He even gets less flack for some of the exact same flaws that the other guys showed, for example Stidham overthrowing open deep passes - which Bo Nix does just as often but with less scrutiny. Despite the fact that Stidham actually made considerably more plays, produced a considerably better offense, and actually won more games.
