I think the defenses will catch up eventually.

Clemson and Brent Venables seem to have something figured out and Auburn the past couple of years with Steele have been very good

Yeah, Venables is damn good. Wish he hadn't had the LSU game last year to learn from. I'm sure he's made some great adaptations based on that game.

The venables game plan should have spread throughout all of football and idk why it hasn’t. Recruit hard hitting safeties at put them at outside linebacker. You really only need a true linebacker at Mike. Let the hybrid guys play outside linebacker have 3 safeties on the field over the top and still two corners. Basically you play with either a 3-2-6 or 2-4-5. You can play with the 3-2-6 or dime as your base if you have elite line play but other than that your base should be a nickel package with 3 safeties. Venables is elite because they have such smart defensive players they have a huge defensive playbook they can go into. If you watch Clemson against an elite offense and you’ll see 3-1-7,1-5-5/1-4-6/2–4-5,3-3-5 etc and these exotic looks is what can really hurt these spread offenses the same way zone blitzes confused the run and shoot because these different defensive fronts makes those simple and easy reads that the rpo is based around, and makes it almost impossible to read pre snap
