If this were the case, you wouldn't have made this stupid post. There is a big difference in playing in some meaningless bowl game in Shreveport as opposed to playing/practicing in front of NFL scouts for a week at the Senior Bowl.
Are you somehow under the impression that scouts do not attend or watch the regular bowl games?
The players invited to the Senior Bowl are pretty well known for what they bring to the table.
How meaningful do you think the Senior Bowl is?

The purpose of college is to prepare you for a career, if you are gifted enough to have a shot at playing at the next level, you would be stupid not to do everything in your power to take it.

The practices leading up to the game are more meaningful than any bowl game.

Scouts do attend regular bowl games, but what are the chances that the head coaches of just about every NFL team will be in attendance at the game and the practices? They do attend Sr. Bowl practice.

Obviously not, but a player gets a hell of lot more attention from NFL teams at the Senior bowl than they would at the Duke's Mayo Bowl. Why risk injuring yourself in a meaningless game when you have an opportunity to make it to the NFL?
