Why don’t you provide the class an update on the Baylor situation and what sanctions have been levied
Well, they were placed on SACS accreditation probation, for one.
The Big12 also withheld 25% of their future revenue payments.
They were investigated by the entire Texas DPS.
Then the NCAA released its formal NOA against Baylor, accusing them of a Lack of Institutional Control, and according to an article published yesterday, are scheduled for a 2 day appearance in front of the infractions committee.

Anything else, sir?

A hearing that was initially set in 2018....

Is this like double secret probation?

No they didn’t. “Pending an investigation” meaning they haven’t

Go on...
Bottom line, outside Briles getting fired, individual players prosecuted, and some bad PR, nothing has happened to the Baylor athletic department, and most think at this point nothing ever will. A whole bunch of “investigations” and posturing but no actual consequences

This is where this could impact LSU. SACS probation could impact Federal Funding for Research $$$. That impacts the entire University and impacts the core mission of a school like Baylor, and potentially LSU, which is Research and Teaching.
If the SEC does something similar if LSU gets hit with Title IX infractions and SACS probation, a 25% loss of SEC money is going to hurt like hell. LSU relies on Selling Tiger Stadium out to generate a significant portion of its Revenues and of course the SEC Revenue from TV contracts.
COVID-19 put a kick in the azzz on LSU's ticket sales already and a loss of SEC money means LSU is potentially going to be constrained the next few years with facility upgrades, etc.
So none of this relates to having ineligible players playing in games (i.e. grade fraud to keep players academically eligible) and will not impact games won. So not an NCAA issue like that, but in reality lets be honest, it is far more serious from a ethical perspective and could impact LSU financially.
Again could, I will wait for the independent audit to issue their report
