But what is even the point of the OP? Mullen went with experience at QB to start the 2018 season. Nothing controversial there.
There is something wrong there.
I knew Trask was better based off of the 2018 Spring Game.
I also called it right on the Missouri game.
I don't think this is due to Mullen being bad at Quarterback development or not knowing who was better, I think Mullen's ego got in his way. He wanted to fix Franks, and I think in some way he takes great pride in trying to make shite into sugar. Mullen can take a decent but really athletic Quarterback and make them serviceable, but Franks:
Runs like a Pro-QB.
Throws like a Dual-Threat.
My theory is that Mullen just was too in love with himself to actually play Trask, because there's no way some moron on a message board was able to see that Trask's arm was that good before Dan Mullen did.
I hope Mullen has grown a little, probably not, but that he almost let Franks tank his tenure at Florida is pretty worrisome if we ever run into a similar problem in the future.
And we just gotta live with that, and admit that he fricked up Franks and Trask.

Hey, Straws. Glad you're back as I've always enjoyed your post.
I take comfort in knowing that he was likely going to give Trask a look after the Mizzou game in 2018. I realize that's a little late for some but the season wasn't so far gone at that point that I think Mullen is a risk to "tank his tenure" if faced with a similar problem in the future. Also, he's shown an ability to adapt; this year providing an excellent example.
