Miami(Fl) had the same problem as LSU...

They did not run away, but played the game.

They didn't have any position groups that were completely bare. LSU had two. They also had 11 more scholarship players to begin with. They have 79, LSU has 68. So, even after their covid losses they were only 2 players below what LSU started with.
