According to the story linked above, the South Carolina football program had $65 million in revenue for the 2018-19 fiscal year, which ranks 23rd among Power 5 schools. This is a drop of one place from 22nd nationally year over year.
From an athletics department standpoint, revenues have increased every year under athletics director Ray Tanner and eclipsed the $140 million mark in 2017-18, according to data from USA Today. Total revenues were at just over $90 million in 2013, and have jumped now to over $140 million. More money brought in means more money to spend.
They're still making money because we still show up. After the impact Covid attendance has and will continue to show on the P&L. Theres no chance in hell they'll risk another season in attendance downfall next season. They don't need to fire him as their profitable and we're loyal. They don't want to fire him as money is low and the buyout is high.
But faced with the reality that attendance will be down again next year. They cant afford not to fire is stupid fricking arse.

Yep we are stuck with him. But I want us to win out for the players and us fans, not for Champ.
Side note it would be interesting if Champ tested positive for covid and had to sit out a game. And no I don't wish him or anyone harm. But if he wasn't there would it make a positive difference?

But I hope I’m wrong

If they get blown out tonight he may be done. The fan support at least here in Columbia is the worst I have ever seen it. If they win tonight and look better the last few games then it’s probably 50/50. If hill plays bad tonight and they don’t make a change he is probably done as well.
