Coach Meyer and Coach Carroll could not,

Meyer has won everywhere he's coached over a period of 20 years. He took Bowling Green from a 2-9 record to a 8-3, 9-3 record in his two season there. He then took a middling Utah program to an undefeated season in his second year after a 10-2 season his first. He then went to a down Florida program and won 2 national titles there. Then he went to Ohio State and never won fewer than 11 games, winning one national title, and making the CFPs 3 times.
Pete Carroll has won a Super Bowl, played in another, and has 8 playoff appearances in 11 seasons since his dynasty at USC.
These are some awful examples of coaches not changing with the times.
