Alabama, Clemson, and Ohio State

Two of those are blue bloods with established traditions of winning over decades.

However, Clemson is proof that with the right coaching and conditions, a team has a chance to change direction and be a consistent contender. My guess is that they are also a coaching change away from "Clemsonsoning" becoming a regular thing again.

For those below the current "elite," why can't football be enjoyable. Even in the early 2000s when Bama was awful, it was still great to watch Bama football. They lost a lot, but played hard and got some upsets at times, as well.

Just watching your team play, even if they are your personal "lovable losers," is enjoyable. When we all thought the season was going to be shite canned, I guarantee there was an Arky fan (with no reason to hope for significant on field change) pissed about not getting to watch the Hogs.

The playoff is the greatest show on earth. It has now far surpassed bowl season.
