Texas has been really inconsistent since Darrell K Royal and that 2004-09 stretch was more the exception than the norm

Despite being absolutely piss poor for the last 10 years, Texas is still #4 all-time in wins and #7 all-time in win percentage.

Texas has lost 3 or more games 30 of the last 40 years with many seasons mixed in with outright losing records. Other than 2001-2009 they've been an average program for a long time.
