We used to run power (never under Coley it seemed). You absolutely can credit the playcalling when you outnumber the defense with pulling guards or center. The tailback could be up against a safety before the responsibility for yards falls upon the position of running back.

I agree overall with what you are saying, but that defense of Oklahoma's was just awful. They had no clue about where to lineup, what their responsibilities were...they tackled sloppily, took poor angles. I mean it was inexcusable at that point in the season to have all those issues.
But, this is not disagreeing with your point. just adding another layer.
