Tennessee was the better team, they just started slow.

Bama was the more talented team, but they have several times run into better "teams." Hard to argue that. But, talent usually wins out. Saban has been a tremendous recruiter and assembled great staffs, but it has been hit or miss on how the team gels and buys-in over the years. That is likely the toughest challenge when dealing with so much high end talent and egos.

Discipline, drill, and unity can overcome greater #s and talent gaps. Putting the former together with high end talent year after year of success is an incredible challenge for any coach or staff.
