Word on the street is TV rights will triple in the next 2022 negotiation. The new TV players will be Amazon, Google, NetFlix driving up the payout for Disney. For that to be profitable, the expectation will force the top 40 teams to only play one another.

For which conference?

The ACC is locked into a TV contract until 2036, the Big 12 2025, the PAC 12 2024, the Big 10 2032, and the SEC 2023.

I know Apple is talking with the PAC 12 and ABC/ESPN is already talking with the SEC.

You need to provide some links here because this seems incorrect. Example CBS is currently paying the SEC $55 million a year and ABC/ESPN is already offering up over $300 million which is almost 6 times the current amount.

First why would the SEC go elsewhere for half on their next contract with ABC/ESPN. Second most of the conferences with the exception of the SEC are locked in to their current contracts.
