Former Georgia Tech defensive end Jordan Domineck has committed to transfer to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Domineck, 6-3, 245, went public with his decision on Monday following an official visit with the Hogs.

Domineck, 6-3, 245, announced his decision to transfer from Georgia Tech on February 19 and went public with his offer from the Razorbacks two days later. He then reeled in offers from Nebraska, Michigan State, Kansas, Auburn, UCF, Indiana, Penn State, Iowa State and others to quickly become one of the portal's most wanted current transfers.

"They showed me that they truly wanted me to come," Domineck told HawgSports. "They showed me that I was desired and worth being invested in, especially at that level of football."

Domineck has already graduated from Georgia Tech and will have two years of eligibility remaining at his next stop. He has made it known that academics and working toward a career in physical therapy will be a priority as he seeks a new institution.

During his time with the Yellow Jackets, Domineck recorded 103 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, 9 sacks, 6 forced fumbles, 7 quarterback hurries and 2 pass break-ups in 31 career games played. His 2021 season included 38 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, a 70-yard fumble return for a touchdown, 3 quarterback hurries, and a pass break-up in 12 games.

Domineck signed with Georgia Tech as a three-star defensive end out of Lakeland (Fla.) Jenkins in the Class of 2018. Rated as the nation's No. 72 weak-side defensive end, the then 6-3, 220-pounder chose the Ramblin' Wreck over offers from Vanderbilt, Syracuse, UCF, Iowa State, FAU, FIU and many others.

Domineck is Arkansas’ seventh incoming transfer – its sixth on full scholarship – of the 2021-22 offseason. He joins wide receiver Jadon Haselwood (Oklahoma), defensive end Landon Jackson (LSU), cornerback Dwight McGlothern (LSU), linebacker Drew Sanders (Alabama), safety Latavious Brini (Georgia), and walk-on quarterback Cade Fortin (South Florida).

Nebraska defensive lineman Casey Rogers

This comes as a very surprising development, as Rogers was poised to potentially start and see a lot of snaps for the Huskers depleted defensive line in 2022.

A year ago Rogers battled an early-season injury and only played 139 snaps, compared to 243 in the shortened 2020 season.

Over his career, Rogers played in 23 games with one start coming in 2020. He saw eight games of action in 2020 and seven in 2021.

In 2021, Rogers finished with 17 tackles, three tackles for loss and .5 sacks in seven games.

In 2020, he had 25 tackles, three tackles for loss and one sack in eight games.

Former Arkansas State defensive lineman Terry Hampton has committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Hampton, 6-0, 293, went public with his decision on Sunday, just five days after reporting an offer from the Hogs and several others.

Hampton announced his decision to transfer from the Red Wolves on April 15. He made his decision on Sunday after wrapping up an official visit with the Hogs.

"I feel like they're doing something special here, especially going into this year,” Hampton said. “They're looking for a few changes on defense and I feel like I would be a great fit."

Hampton’s first offer came from Houston defensive line coach Brian Early, who originally recruited Hampton to Arkansas State out of El Dorado (Ark.) in the Class of 2018. Arkansas was second to offer, followed by Utah State, Oregon State, SMU, Western Kentucky, Illinois and Texas Tech.

In four seasons with the Red Wolves, Hampton totaled 61 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and a pass break-up in 36 career games played.

He was recruited to Fayetteville by defensive line coach Deke Adams.

"Great coach, man, great coach,” Hampton said. “I can feel the energy being around him. I can tell he really knows what he's doing."

Playing for the Hogs was a lifelong dream of Hampton's.

"Yes, I did. It was a goal of mine coming out of high school, but things unfortunately happened with my injury and all, but that was the goal," he said.

The defensive lineman is Arkansas’ seventh incoming sholarship transfer of the offseason, joining wide receiver Jadon Haselwood (Oklahoma), defensive end Landon Jackson (LSU), defensive end Jordan Domineck (Georgia Tech), linebacker Drew Sanders (Alabama), cornerback Dwight McGlothern (LSU) and safety/nickel Latavious Brini (Georgia).

The Razorbacks also added former South Florida quarterback Cade Fortin as a walk-on at the beginning of the year. After landing Hampton, the Hogs are still expected to be on the market for another defensive lineman and a wide receiver in the transfer portal.

Matt Landers commits to Arkansas

quote:

Former Toledo and Georgia wide receiver Matt Landers has committed to play his final season with Sam Pittman and the Arkansas Razorbacks. Landers, 6-5, 200, went public with his decision on Sunday, a few days after an official visit in Fayetteville.

Landers, a 2017 product of St. Petersburg (Fla.), said the Hogs offered him a perfect situation to finish his collegiate career around people he'd known from Georgia, including Pittman, special teams coordinator Scott Fountain, safety Latavious Brini, and others.

"Really just a great fit. Great organization. Great offensive coordinator, great receivers coach and great staff. Like I said just familiar faces."

Landers, 6-5, 200, is a former three-star recruit who signed with Georgia in the Class of 2017. He spent his first four seasons with the Dawgs, racking up 12 catches for 132 yards and a touchdown in 24 games played.

The Florida native then transferred to Toledo, where he caught 20 passes for 514 yards (25.70 YPC) and a team-high 5 touchdowns in 2021. With the Hogs, Landers will likely be asked to step in and immediately contribute to a position group that had its share of question marks in the spring. Arkansas is looking to replace the production of 2021 All-American and 2022 first-round draft pick Treylon Burks, in addition to two other top-four receivers from the 2021 squad in De'Vion Warren and Tyson Morris.

Landers is Arkansas' second incoming transfer at wide receiver this offseason, joining former five-star Jadon Haselwood of Oklahoma. Haselwood transferred to Fayetteville in January and went through spring drills with the team.

Arkansas has now added a total of eight scholarship transfers this offseason, including Landers and Haselwood at wide receiver, defensive end Landon Jackson (LSU), defensive end Jordan Domineck (Georgia Tech), defensive tackle Terry Hampton (Arkansas State), linebacker Drew Sanders (Alabama), cornerback Dwight McGlothern (LSU) and safety/nickel Latavious Brini (Georgia).

Breaking: JUCO DT Taylor Lewis explains Arkansas commitment

quote:

Arkansas received a commitment from College of the Canyons defensive tackle Taylor Lewis on Tuesday.

Lewis will be a late addition to the 2022 class. He is coming off a visit to Fayetteville and had additional opportunities from Oregon State, Auburn Nebraska, Hawaii and more.

"I really felt like it was the whole package at Arkansas, but mainly the coaching staff," Lewis explained. "They won me over with the way they operate, the way they communicated with each other and how they communicated with me. They were real welcoming to me and my family."

Lewis does not know the exact date he reports to campus at Arkansas yet. He graduates from College of the Canyons this week and then expects to head to Fayetteville shortly after and begin his quest to be on the field this fall.

"It's pretty open," he said. "They need a guy to come in and help win games, somebody to play right away and that's all I need."

At several points in time, Lewis' football journey was uncertain. Having gone through the process of going to a JUCO, waiting it out into the spring and now landing at an SEC program, he is appreciative of where the next step will take him.

"It hasn't even really sunk in yet," he said. "It won't sink in until I step on the field. It really is a blessing with the things I went through to get to where I am at. I try to reminisce and think about it, but it still hasn't started to sink in."

One person Lewis wanted to acknowledge as he commits is Sinque Turner, his high school head coach at Chicago Kenwood who he owes a debt of gratitude to.

"Not a lot of people know this, but I had to go the alternative school route and Coach Turner really put himself on the line, stuck his neck out and got me in school. He was really the reason I was able to come back to Kenwood," Lewis said. "He was the only one that stuck with me. He stuck with me at Iowa Central, then College of the Canyons and awas always one phone call away. I wasn't always the easiest kid to deal with, but he gave me his full availability and I want to thank him for that."

247Sports rates Lewis a three-star prospect.
