You expect people to like when current and former players make demands over trivial bs from the schools that furnished them with athletic scholarships? I try not to generalize, but it is shitty behavior. Several former LSU players were jumping on the Brees hate bandwagon, it was disgusting and made me question my allegiances tbqh

What is trivial is always in the eye of the beholder. Further still, everyone has an opinion and feeling one way or another on everything. That is why people always say, "never meet your heroes." It will often disillusion you.

None of this is new, players "loyalty" and fan loyalty are quite different. And, the fanatic is always more emotionally tied to the event.

I forget the movie and frankly, my Saturday night state is making some of the other details "fuzzy" as well. But, the main guy basically ruined his personal and professional life cheering on and carrying out his superstions to keep the team winning until it all came crashing down with a world series loss. The guy was crushed and intent on drinking his pain away until he saw the losing pitcher in the restaurant/bar after the game laughing it up with other players and having a good time, as if nothing had happened. He realized it was just a game and sometimes just a job to the players... made up with fiance.. Yada Yada yada...

That said, if you likely knew more of the players and coaches real life feelings, perspectives and opinions, you may hate them all the more. Like that movie, it really is just a game and sometimes just a job for players (even in college). There is not always a ride or die type of connection or loyalty.

If you like the program, like it from the macro view as the micro view gets messy at times. That said, don't judge the whole by actions of a few. Further, opinions are allowed. I agree it is frustrating right now that the call for dialog is really just "shut up and hear my side or you are a racist" for some. Definitely not all, but certainly some.
