What I love about those making the tariff argument, is that the Morrill tariff was hung up in Senate committee until enough southern states left the union and their anti-tariff Senators were no longer there to block the tariff.

It wasn't even law when the first 7 states left the union.

Are you saying the South was not paying a tariff before the war started?
