Yes, I can explain it.
They think since the Alabama football program is more historically successful than the Texas Longhorns, that Texas folks are now jealous that their new daddy is more successful.
Somehow they think that’s some kind of feather in their hat. It’s a combination of post-traumatic stress disorder that’s evolved into Stockholm syndrome.

You may be on to something.
Another poster said “they hate LSU and a enemy of my enemy is my friend” Is the answer.
While both of you are probably right to an extent, I think they want to feel relevant and want to feel like a winner so bad, and they are so jealous of LSU being the SEC blue blood powerhouse that they only can imagine themselves to be, that if they love up to bama that they too can get to feel somewhat successful too.
If it was Auburn that had Bama’s success, they would dick ride Auburn. They are like a bitch that follows the rock band around or chicks that throw themselves on sports stars hoping that they will be accepted and some of the success of that person will somehow rub off on them. They are like groupies or high school girls that have crushes on the school jock.
