I like SEC football as much as the next guy. Love basketball and baseball, too. I hated to see the baseball season crater because I had bought season tickets and was having a great time up until the cancellation.

But there are just too many risks out there with this virus. People keep comparing it to the flu, but we have a vaccine for the flu. Even then, some people refuse to take the vaccine.

I hope we have a vaccine for covid-19 by next year. I hope we can resume regular sports around the year. But I just don't see the pros and colleges taking on the liabilities associated with team sports with the virus out there uncontrolled.

There is no vaccine for the flu

It doesn’t exist.

You can take a shot, you may or may not get it.

Small pox, polio? Yes there’s a vaccine.

They flu vaccine only reduces your chances of getting it by about 40-60%.

There are no liabilities for the teams. The risks are known before hand, if someone decides to go to a game, they are doing so at their own risk. In no way are schools or events guaranteeing people they can't catch it.
