Good lowered Texas fans are still holding onto this. All you have to do is look how Colt did against the other two top 10 defenses (Oklahoma & Nebraska) he played that year and you get a preview of how he would have played against Alabama that night.

Sure, or you could look at what he did to most of the ranked teams any year he played them. Or what he did to ranked Ok State on the road... you know, to get invited to the Heisman presentation?

He was 100% completion and led them straight to the redzone, btw. So I'd say he was holding his own while he was in.

If Garrett freaking Gilbert could've tossed a couple TDs, no question Colt could've.

LOL. Colt threw two passes for 9 yards . In 2009 Texas played three ranked teams before the Rose Bowl: Nebraska, Oklahoma & Oklahoma State. Nebraska and Oklahoma were top 10 defenses and Colt blew against them. Oklahoma State was the 31st ranked defense. Garret Gilbert threw four interceptions and completed less than 40% of his passes but sure base your judgement on his day on two passes he did complete
