Schools at the next tier, lower than Research 1, are going to face issues as well, and the further down you go with University Classifications, some of them are going to close shop, in my view.

I said schools lower than R1 are going to face financial issues, and the further down you go in terms of University Classification some of those smaller regional or private Liberal arts type Universities are going to close.
The University of Arizona, which is one of the major R1 Universities in this state is cutting salaries, and furloughing employees. That is Arizona

Here is an article by Market watch that analyzes trends. Higher education participation among domestic students has been trending down as Costs for many of the degree progams that Universities offer don't outweigh the benefits. To fill those voids, many Universities have used International Students, but some of those are from Countries that lets say are not or do not have the best interest of the USA (i.e. China). Regardless, as I said, many Universities even the top ones are going to face some financial stress, and the some of the Universities as you go down below the R1, then R2, levels, etc, are in fact going to be closed

Your GIF there does a good job of showing your ability to read what I wrote.
I could numerous other articles about Higher Ed from many other sources but these 2 are some of the easier to read.

Consistent and supporting my first post, here is another article, as the article notes, 3 smaller branch campuses in the University of Vermont System have been permantly closed, meaning when students return to on campus learning, those students will have to transfer to other branch or main campus in the Vermont System. A University in Ohio closed one of its Branch campuses. R1 Universities such as Michigan, Kentucky are facing major Financial issues, I already documented U of Arizona cut employee salaries (tenured faculty included) and furloughed employees

So yes, there will be major re-structuring the Higher Education system across the USA post COVID-19. It is already happening now.
