The rule has been changed for the FUTURE>

During last years IB, the play was called correctly.

NOTE: We also won by three, so even if you take the play off the books, it is not like Bama wins. The whole game plays out differently.

It was not called correctly. There was not enough time to get any play off. They stood over the ball and incorrectly treated it as if they were returning from a timeout.

You were basically given a free timeout as a result.

Doesn't matter how it would have affected the game, it's something that needed fixed either way. Otherwise it might happen in more games, even though it's usually called correctly. Many of teams haven't been allowed to make that kick.

I think most Alabama fans look at the 2 pick sixes and the missed FGs as what ultimately did Alabama in, but there is no doubt Auburn got 3 free points.
