Public lives and private lives are very different things. It's what feeds the addage, "never meet your heroes, lest they be found to have feet of clay."

Further, as Gabriel García Márquez further clarifies in A Life,"All human beings have three lives: public, private, and secret."

The public is what we want others to see. The private is what you show only to those close to you. The secret is what you'd never show anyone for fear of shame or embarrassment.

The latter ranges from the benign porn fetish to the serial killer/child rapist that was the "nicest guy and best neighbor."

When overlaid with the complexities of human interaction in a relationship, in particular a long term relationship, any range of things could contribute to a drift apart sparked by pressures of maintaining a false public life, differing emergent goals in private lives, and/or discovery of your partner's secret life.

That said, it truly isn't any of our business and resides as trivial, tabloid-esque gossip and reality TV like drama for the most part.

Hope the seperation is smooth for all and easy as it can be for the family and friends closest to Coach O and his wife. But, it really isn't any of our business.
