Based on my occupation, that is not a true statement. Most poor people dont pay tax. They get what is called refundable credits. Thats means they not only pay zero tax but get refunds. Just another welfare system built into the tax code. I see it all the time, so dont tell me its not true. The latest tax law greatly benefits some middle class people. They now get the 2,000 child credit, if your income is under 400,000 married or 200,000 single. Previously many got phased out. You just cant make a blanket statement about the latest tax law. Everyones rates went down , but the payroll withholding tables were changed to reflect the decrease. so it didnt change the refunds people got. They were getting it in each pay check.

You're right, my bad, I'll amend my statement.

The rich disproportionately benefited from the tax cuts. The largest breaks by far applied to corporate taxes and estate taxes. It has not promoted GDP growth . It has not resulted in job creation as executives instead bought back shares at record amounts.

And maybe you're okay with all of that, but in the context of my post and the one I was responding to, it's laughable to suggest that this party has any interest in representing low income people.
