There aren’t tie-breakers in the conference standings, only for tournament seeding. LSU finished tied for second with Auburn in the final SEC standings. There are teams crowned co-champions all the time when they lost H2H to the other co-champion. A&M fans make the same mistake regarding divisional standings in football, so this post doesn’t surprise me

LSU fans in 2016: Aggy didn't finish first, Kentucky did (even though A&M won the head to head and was #1 in the SEC Tournament)

LSU fans in 2020: We is 2nd! (even though Auburn won the head to head and was #2 in the SEC Tournament)
