And I'll state again, I love that Strong is being brought on as an analyst. I am just trying to understand the hard stance you guys are taking on this.

The Golding haters will never be satisfied till he is fired or gone by other means.

What he does this year with the defense won't matter at all to them. If the defense does well, Strong will get all the credit; if the defense performs poorly, Golding will get all the blame.

Case in point was the Citrus Bowl; Golding got all the blame for the poor play in the first half and none of the credit for making adjustments and shutting 'em out in the second half. There were some folk on here 'speculating' that Saban's tirade lit a fire under the defense and that's what made the difference...

With the Strong hire (which I like), Golding is in a no-win situation this season with the fans and, I suspect, the talking heads as well...

Yep, but at the end of the day, it's Saban's defense and Saban knows these things. Saban hasn't fired Golding, so Saban must not think Golding is the issue.

If Saban really thought Golding was the issue, he would have been fired months ago. It's only part of the fan base that believes Golding is the problem. Much of which was fueled by bogus insider information calling him goofy and lazy.

Defense also made good adjustments in the 2nd half of the LSU game. Just ran out of steam or whatever late in the 4th.

But yeah, you never hear about shutting Michigan out the 2nd half. Defense did better against Michigan than Ohio St did.
