How different would things be if Tua had just thrown a ball away against Tennessee and not sprained his ankle?
We would have whipped LSU and Auburn’s asses and destroyed the narrative about LSU, greatest team ever. Man, what could have been.
Or if he had thrown the ball away instead of throwing an interception inside our own 20 with 15 seconds left in the 1st half to give LSU 7 points. Or if he hadn't fumbled without being touch inside LSU's redzone.
Nobody will admit it, but Tua choked in every big game we had.

Then explain the big second-half comeback vs LSU? We finally catch up after being down big time and our defense proceeds to resort back to first-half form getting walked down the field in the 4th. Chunk play after chunk play with the same simple throws and QB runs? With just a half-azz defense that long bomb to Devonte Smith could have finished off the Tigers.

I'll admit it.
Or at least I'll say it this way. He had one "clutch" moment during his time at Alabama and that was pretty much it.
If there was a time (other than 2 and 26) he stepped up and put the team on his shoulders, I can't remember it.
Tua is a bit of an oddity. He has all these ridiculous numbers and not much at all to show for it on his own.
One amazing half of football and the rest of it? Alot of largely meaningless percentages and statistics.
I'll remember Tua for two things. Two and twenty six and his refusal to be coached.
You know what was great about the three championship winning quarterbacks prior to Tua and what's also great about Mac Jones?
They all know when to throw away a frickin' football.
