Every team in America would give up a year or two (or even more) of stepping back to have the best season in the history of college football, except maybe 3 teams (Bama, Clemson, Ohio State). Even the fans of those teams might think about it. Who knows, after TL leaves next year, Clemson many slide back into the obscurity from which it only recently emerged. FSU, with Norvell, may return to competitiveness in a couple of years and knock Clemson back a bit from its automatic road to the CFB because it plays in a weak conference.
ON the other hand, LSU has demonstrated already long term viability- 3 very different coaches have won an NC in succession (over 16 years). On the other hand, Clemson has had two coaches separated by 40+ years who have won an NC.
