The officials in this KY and VT game are horrendous.... this soft nanny state society we live in will be the death of the sport...

They know the risks when they sign up. No one is making them play. If they don’t like it, they have plenty of other sports they can play

That’s a pipe dream. The sport is barbaric as frick by nature. That’s what they signed up for. And it’s not like this rule is going to make a dude weigh his options and pull up on a tackle while running full speed to hit a guy 10 feet away.
And then there are other variables like the ball carrier moving his head into the path of the defender’s helmet, thus creating incidental helmet to helmet contact.
Again though, the sport is barbaric as frick so it’s a joke to think that they can make it “safe” under the current structure of the game
