Thoughts on Cornell Ford

For the longest time as Ford was CB coach I thought he did poorly but was kept on the staff because he recruited well, but over time he became the RB's coach and did better than average at coaching that position, but his recruiting went down, and it's like the St Louis area wore out on him.

He's a mediocre coach, who's worse at recruiting.

He was never a dynamic recruiter and didn't get several of the big St. Louis recruits.
But for the longest time he had cbs that could tackle their arse off and his rb room was pretty solid too. He communicates well with his players and probably recruits, he just wasn't dynamic enough to get the big boys.
