I couldn’t agree more. I don’t know why a cop isn’t thinking desculation of the situation when he is butting heads against a swole college linebacker that isn’t all there, but he needs to learn it fast. Especially if his partner is just going to watch it happen.

I’ve worked in the ER and have seen male nurses act violently against overdosed and drunk patients and ive seen deesculation. Deescalation always works better. The patient would have to be on bath salts to not understand “calm down”from the softest tongue. So if you ever encounter someone on bath salts just forget about lip service, go straight for the knockout

All kidding aside. I know his PD has given better training than that.

Deescalation techniques rarely get handcuffs onto a large, combative individual.
