Can someone tell me why he wouldn't come here? Is there something he might not like? Just seems too good to be true that we get a HC of this caliber.

Ive seen some argue that Memphis is locked and loaded for next year. He may want to stay do well again then try to snag a higher profile job next year like Texas or so.

Not saying i believe thats the case. But thats what ive read some people say and makes enough sense.

This.

It's not that Memphis is better than Ole Miss or that Ole Miss is a bad job, it's that it's better to stay at Memphis and see what opens up next there that IS better than Ole Miss.

If FSU doesn't work out.

This is make or break for me. I don’t want a Moorehead. Has to have collegent HC experience.

Oh, well, I didn't realize that. That certainly changes everything.

The only way he doesn’t wind up in Oxford is if Florida State offers him. It’s looking like there’s a high probability of that happening.

They have six starting seniors on O and 3 on D. Can't imagine they lose a lot of underclassmen to draft but that doesn't sound ver "locked and loaded" to me. Was that from mempho homer?

Yeah we're not getting this guy. I'm sure of it. I would bet money.

Agreed and it sucks. Napier is the coach and we all know it

I'm wouldn't be upset with Napier. He's been around success and is a decent coach. It's very Hugh Freeze-esque in a sense. If he can get talent like Freeze, we will be in a good spot.

We could do a lot worse than him. Personally, I like him more than Kiffin

Norvell and Kiffin are the only two coaches who could re-energize the fan base. I wish Napier the best, but I just really don’t care anymore.

Really got to sell it to him. All our facilities are on par with the best. We have two QB's that are ready being Corral doesn't transfer. Some play makers both sides of the ball.

Another thought is does he really like Oxford? I know so many people love it but coming from a metropolitan area he might not see the charm but just a small town. He just may like Memphis better. He may get a raise after all this.

There are so many dynamics that come into play here. Some which we don't know.

He will most likely get a signing bonus, if not we should give him a sizable amount of money upfront.

The way Ole Miss works is we get all excited for a coach (Norvell), something goes wrong and we realize we have to settle for a much lesser coach(Napier) so we get all butt hurt, then the admin hires Rich Rod.
