Why? Alabama admits more elite students (ACT of 32 or higher) than any other SEC school, save for A&M
link?

it's harder to get into Auburn than it is to get in Alabama

I have posted this fact many times here in the past. Here is how you know I am correct. Look at the 75th percentile of students at UA. It is 31. It was 32 just two years ago. Auburn's is only 28 by the way. Now look at the 75th percentile of ACT scores (great majority of UA applicants submit only ACT) for other schools. Now compare the size of their freshman classes to that of UA. If UA enrolls about a 1000 more freshman than UGA for example, even if UGA has a 75th percentile of 32, UA still enrolls a larger number, though not percentage, of elite students.

Later I will try to make a list of the 75th percentile for each school.

you may be right, but the only way I will "know" if you are correct or not is for you to post a link, cuz I don't care enough to research it...

Alabama is a fine school, clearly better than Auburn in several fields (example, law)

but Auburn has higher admission standards at this point in time (I was honestly very surprised to learn this myself as Bama was considered better for so long)

it is what it is

top SEC school for academics is Vandy, and it isn't really even close

2nd is Florida, and again, it really isn't close

3rd? toss-up between UGA and aTm

Auburn has slid into the 5th spot that Bama held for a long time by a hair
