Eveything you just posted shows exactly why they need more teams

If you get lower ranked teams you are merely adding more teams that have little to no chance of winning a championship. The blowouts will be worse, and there will be more of them.

Add to that that a top team would have to play another tough game and it adds to the chances that an injury critical to them occurs. You might have a legit title team not win because of added injuries.

Oregon 59 FSU 20- TCU, who was left out the playoffs, blew the fricking doors off of Ole Miss in the bowl game, the team that beat Bama....

I think it is safe to say that the Ole Miss victory over Alabama was a bit of a fluke.

Clemson 37 Oklahoma 17-Ohio st, the defending champs with only one loss, clearly were better than Mich St

Then leave Michigan Stat out.

quote:

Clemson 31 Ohio St. 0-Maybe Penn state, the actual big 10 champs who beat OSU, should have had an opportunity
You mean the team that got beat 49-10 by Michigan and 42-39 by Pitt?

quote:

Clemson 30 ND 3-Ohio State would have blown the doors off ND as well
Instead of adding ohio State, why not do the right thing and leave ND out?

I mean, your arguments are not good for adding teams. your arguments are better for getting the right teams in there. It does not add value to put weak teams in the playoffs. It waters it down.

How many times have a team been left out of the playoffs that had a great chance at winning the playoffs? Rarely if ever. Yet people want to add 4 additional teams to the playoffs?

Nah, the 2015 win was a bit of a fluke as it took 5 turnovers from Alabama and a crazy tipped pass that turned into a 60yd td play for Ole Miss.

In 2014 it was just a really close game where OM intercepted a late pass in the endzone to prevent Alabama from scoring to tie and take the lead with the extra point. Even one of Alabama's tds came from a fumble recovery. Good Bo showed up that day and threw for 251 and 3 tds.

Ole Miss ran into a buzzsaw against TCU. Also, OM was not the same team they were when they played Alabama, after losing Laquon Treadwell for the year in the Auburn game.

ETA: The OM defense was very solid that year. Through the first 8 games of the season they were giving up 10.5 pts a game. Even after giving up 35 to Aub (this game hurt a lot..think it set the tone for the rest of the year as Treadwell got hurt as he was about to cross the goal line while fumbling into the endzone and lost 35-31), 30 to Ark, and 42 to TCU they were still only giving up 16 pts a game for the full season.

Leave an undefeated ND our of the playoff and the next day they join their basketball brethren in the ACC, where they belong. Unfortunately, that would require a more honest perception than just an eye test.
