So you’re saying that a loss to Kansas State is more prestigious than a loss to LSU or Bama?

Nah

not at all. I'm saying that the committee has shown that they tend to value: P5 conferences, overall win-loss records, conference championships, head-to-head results, strength of schedule, and then comparison of results against common opponents in that order

That said, if 2 x P5 teams with like w-l records, no head to head game, and 1 has a Conf Champ and the other does not, the conference champion gets in.

The only thing that may affect that IMO is if Tua's injury affects the LSU game or he simply doesn't play, Bama loses a close game to LSU, and then Bama goes on to steamroll the rest of its schedule to the tune of 3+ score wins with a healthy Tua. But, even then, it is a longshot. I think the Conf Champ gets the nod.
