The agreement between CBS and ESPN is that CBS gets one SEC prime time game a year. This year CBS chose GA v. Notre Dame. So technically they've used up their prime time slot. However, just like in 2011 they can basically buy the slot from ESPN which would more than likely would include "future scheduling considerations for next season" (or this season, see below). In 2011 both the AL-Florida game and the AL-LSU game were in prime time on CBS.

Some believe that ESPN getting the FL-LSU game in prime time was down payment that would allow CBS to move the AL-LSU game to prime time Nov. 9. I think this could be true because I can't think of another reason why CBS would not have chosen that game other than stupidity. The LSU - MSU game this week is another head-scratcher.
