As you can see, there must be some statistical anomaly that puts AU as close behind Bama as you report. Frankly, AU is not close to Alabama in interest.

Well obviously Bama is out front.... they've played as one of the teams in the 17 most watched SEC vs. SEC matchups since 2013.

However, Auburn is a clear #2 and its not only because of the Iron Bowl.

I'm surprised that LSU is not more viewed - edit: now I see the Alabama/LSU game is not included because they always play at night. If you remove the Bama/AU game AU's numbers would drop precipitously.

Again, if you remove Alabama from the equation and only look at other games.... Of the Top 15 games not involving Alabama, 7 involved Auburn and just 4 involved LSU. So LSU producing such low ratings has nothing to do with removing the LSU-Alabama game. If you also remove the Iron Bowl, Auburn still has nearly double the amount of highly rated games.

I do think part of the equation is the unbelievably high ratings coming out of the Birmingham market. The fact of the matter is, Alabama and Auburn fans both religiously watch each other's games in hopes their rival will lose.
