I think when it comes to TV viewership both Alabama and Auburn benefit from each other’s fanbases due to the intensity of the rivalry. I freely admit that I watch at least some of most of their games on the off chance I get to see them lose. I would imagine most Bama fans do the same, and I’d also imagine the same situation exists in reverse. I’d be interested to see if there is a noticeable drop in the ratings for each program on days when their games are played at the same time.
