Why would you want to be the only fans not checkering? After the way media has blown it up, it's an actual thing now. Like it or not people will be doing it, so let's represent now that everyone thinks it's a go.

Because it's an idiotic concept... UGA fans might make up 30k at BEST in the stadium... in a 100k+ capacity stadium... it will look sad and unimpressive no matter how you slice it. I actually can't believe that anyone with a reasonable amount of intelligence is behind this if it was in fact a UGA fan who started the idea.

Vandy seats 40,000... and for opening weekend we managed to "take over". Even if we sent that same volume to Knoxville - for a matchup that is 1) a mismatch 2) not in a super desirable destination and 3) not the start of the college football season - we wouldn't reasonably be able to create a true checkerboard anyways...
