In looking at management the last several years, the common factor seems to be Stephen Ross, who took over as managing partner for Wayne Huizinga in 2009. They have had one season over .500 in his tenure and only one playoff appearance, and they're on their fourth GM in eleven years. His hires haven't been successful. They haven't been horrible every year; most years they've just been mediocre. Two 8-8s and four 7-9s.

This is Brian Flores' first year as a head coach anywhere, but he was an assistant at New England for 15 years. That could help explain the Tua/Saban/Alabama love.
