Need to cut out the rent a wins and neutral site games. Maybe play one non conference gimme a year.

There's another angle to this whole "Death Spiral."

I personally don't care about Ohio State or Oklahoma. If those two teams were to meet in the championship game I wouldn't watch. I'd hear about it the next day while I'm making my coffee.

There's been a lot of talk about how it is only a limited number of teams that have a chance to make and win the playoff.

But in the end it is entertainment, and for that you need to have a reason for a lot of people to be interested in your product.

If I am a guy from Jersey, Boston, Seattle, Montana, Virginia - why am I interested in this playoff again? The team I root for has basically no chance to make the playoff, and if they do once in a blue moon, they will probably get annihilated in the first playoff game.

The NCAA should ban FBS vs FCS games and require FBS teams to play 9 regular season conference games.
