It's not that, it's that Oregon doesn't have any more opportunities for a signature win. The only other ranked teams in the Pac are the Washington schools down in the 20s, and WSU barely got past Houston. USC will fall out after yesterday.

When a conference is seen as weak like the Pac is this year, you either have to be undefeated, or have a big win that shows you can compete with the frontrunners to get consideration from the committee. With the loss to Auburn, both of those goals are already out of reach for Oregon.
