I think Saban realized this 5 years ago when he hired Lane Kiffin and understood that the spread, fast-paced offense wasn’t going away. He started recruiting smaller, faster LBs and DLs and got the best QB Bama has ever had on campus in Tua. Would you have ever believed Bama would become WRU and throw for more than twice as many yards as it rushed for against Duke?

Doesn’t mean he’s given up on a stout defense but I think he’s okay with scoring a lot of points and he doesn’t care where they come from.
