Swarzak's role has been reduced with the three BP acquisitions at the trade deadline. But for a while Swarzak was basically the only guy in the pen that could throw a strike, much less get an out. He saved the Braves arse in a few games during a time the rest of the bullpen was shite. I don't think he will be relied on heavily in crunch time in the playoffs, but he made a positive contribution for this team this year in my opinion.

I could see a scenario where Swarzak is left off the NLDS roster, not necessarily because of his "suckiness" as the OP put it, but because of a numbers crunch.
