well it was silly for you to have disdain for Melancon in the first place. He had 4 shutdown performances in a row after coming to Atlanta, then had 2 bad performances over 3 outings, and then has gone back to being dominant again. Why would you have disdain for someone that has 2 poor outings in 15 overall appearances?

Really? Since coming to Atlanta, Swarzak gave up 1 run in 5 May appearances, 0 runs 12 June appearances, had 3 straight outings to close out July where he was bad (gave up 3, 2, and 1 runs), but his first 4 July appearances were all 0's. In August, he again had 12 appearances and only gave up runs in 3 of them. In 2 others he allowed an inherited runner to score.

how exactly is that a "guarantee" that he'll give up a run or 3 when he "strolls to the mound"?
