I once went to Legion Field and watched Sothern Miss and a young Bret Favre's beat a good Bama defense. That loss is much easier to accept after watching his nfl career.

Stallings' first game in 1990. Team looked like it was the first football game the school had ever played.

Not to take anything away from Favre. He was a helluva gamer that day. Missed all of their Summer Camp because of a vehicle accident. Had just been released from the hospital on Wednesday before the game after having 30 inches of lower intestine removed.

I'd forgotten all of that. I do remember losing and Farv. Stalling lost his first three games, changed the offense to a run and clock control offense. Defense stepped up and won a lot of games after that.
