I'm getting myself lost.

Say you're Team A of group 1 of 3 teams.

Every year, your group 1 of 3 teams will always result in 1H/1A. Either group of 4 pods will result in 2H/2A. That now has you at 3H/3A.

This now falls to the schedule with the other group of 3 pod. If A plays: D, @E, & F...that makes 5H/4A. B would play: @D, E, @F. Unfortunately, this now has B with a 4H/5A schedule.

Therefore, there is NO WAY a whole group of 3 pod to have the same H/A setup.

So, basically, ONLY 1 group of 3 teams & 1 group of 4 teams can have the 5H together...correct?

This make sense?

Hince why the Roommate Switch WILL NOT work for a whole pod to have the same H/A setup.

I'm with you here. All 6 teams in the 3-team pods have 3 home divisional games and 3 away divisional games.

Ok, you lost me here. You've unnecessarily given two away games for team Team B against teams D, E & F -- the 3 teams in the other 3-team pod.

With a 9-game schedule, the 6 teams in the two 3-team pods play a total of nine games against one another. That means it's entirely possible for all 3 teams in one group of three to have 2 home games apiece against the teams in the other group of 3. That's 6 of the 9 total. So all three teams in the other 3-team pod would have 1 home game apiece against the teams in the other pod.

EXAMPLE: Pod 1 consists of teams A, B & C. Pod 2 consists of teams, D, E & F.

Team A plays D & F at home and E on the road. (5 total home games)
Team B plays E & F at home and D on the road. (5 total home games)
Team C plays D & E at home and F on the road. (5 total home games)

therefore

Team D plays B at home and A & C on the road (4 total home games)
Team E plays A at home and B & C on the road (4 total home games)
Team F plays C at home and A & B on the road (4 total home games)
