Your athletic department openly violating your own self imposed sanctions is literally the definition of a lack of institutional control. Now the situation is much worse for AU.

I believe there was a correction...we self-imposed no other recruiting but honored the visits set, etc...

However, can you get in trouble for not adhering to a self imposed ban that hasn't been submitted to the NCAA? Couldn't Auburn simply say...we didn't self impose anything.

Per sources, they were additional restrictions imposed internally and not reported to the NCAA. The NCAA is out of scope, even if the sources are correct.

As you know, the school disagrees on record with those unnamed sources.

Lack of institutional control is your dream, but not reality.
